Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the Plant Quality Control laboratory according to direction from the Quality Control Manager.
- Communicate immediately with Operators, Supervisors, and Management regarding any quality, safety, or compliance concerns.
- Supervise Quality Control employees, including organizing work activities, assigning tasks, providing training, and overseeing performance in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Provide training to Quality Control staff on testing methods; ensure correct application, repeatability, and consistency of testing procedures.
- Examine laboratory work for accuracy, neatness, and conformance to established policies and procedures; recommend and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Assist the Quality Control Manager with special projects and initiatives to maintain high product quality.
- Determine work procedures, prepare schedules, and coordinate workflow to support operational needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment, ensuring proper identification, storage, and handling of ingredients, supplies, and products.
- Adhere to OSHA standards and MAPEI’s internal Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs; observe and enforce safe work practices and PPE requirements.
- Support teamwork, professionalism, and effective communication across departments.
- Perform assigned tasks in conformance with procedures and instructions established in the Business Management System (BMS) and in compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Competitive annual base salary from $80.000-$104,000 based on experience and qualifications.

- Prior experience in a Quality Control laboratory or manufacturing environment; supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of testing methods, raw materials, product reactivity, and laboratory best practices.
- College degree or technical education preferred. ​Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train, motivate, and guide others.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to analyze data and resolve complex issues.
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools, including control charts, standard deviation, Cpk, and trend analysis.
- Proficiency with general laboratory equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to work in a Windows-based computer environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one and group settings.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 55 lbs. independently.
- Valid state driver’s license with a good driving record.
