Job DetailsJob Location: Sweeny, TX 77480Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: GraveyardSummary/Objective: The Radiologic Technologist takes images of various portions of the body by operating stationary and portable x-ray equipment according to developmental factors and age specifics.  Processes and critiques radiographic images, prepares room, equipment, and supplies needed for the procedure.   The CT Technologist utilizes computerized tomography scanners to produce cross-section images of the patient’s internal organs and tissues for diagnosis of medical issues.   DEPARTMENTS PILLAR METRICS:                 Service:                 The department/ employees will maintain Patient Satisfaction as measured by Press Ganey                                                                 survey.                 People:                Employee engagement to 100% as measured by the annual Press Ganey Employee Satisfaction                                        survey.                 Quality:                The department/employee will help maintain patient waiting time from registration to start                                                                 of the exam – Cerner measured time.                 Growth:               The department will increase the number of exam by 5% from last year, with the help of new                                                       physicians coming on board.                 Finance:               Employees with help reduce YTD expenses to 97% of prior year.   Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The Radiologic / CT Technologist is expected to practice safe procedures and adheres to radiation safety measures. Produces high quality diagnostic images for Radiologist interpretation. Verify patient by using two identifiers. Explain procedure to patient, assists and transfers patient to table, positions patient for accurate images and assists patient at end of procedure. Transports patient to and from Imaging department. Performs mobile x-ray in patient’s room, emergency room and operating room. Stock supplies needed for daily operation Prepares and administers contrast agents necessary for radiologic/CT examination of internal organs. Assesses and observes patient for adverse reactions during procedures. Performs quality control activities to ensure optimal quality radiographs/ CT scans. Participates in continuing education and learning experiences to enhance and maintain current knowledge and skills to continued competence. Ability to work as a team member Skilled in the operation of stationary/ portable radiologic equipment and CT Scan equipment. Consistent attendance is required to assure that SCH needs and patient needs are met. Comply with all policies, procedures and practices. Send images to Radiologist for interpretation/reading Follow infection control and safety guidelines. CT Technologist has the basic understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, and medical terminology. Cleans and disinfects x-ray, portable and CT equipment Basic understanding of computer technology Basic understanding of clerical duties, etc. phone etiquette, attention to detail, and processing reports. Basic understanding of the C-Arm in the surgical setting.   Competencies: Communication proficiency Ability to communicate effectively, in the English language, both verbally and in writing. Ability to follow directions/instructions from his/her supervisor Documents all pertinent information. Communicates professionally and effectively.   Ethical Conduct Respects the confidentiality of patient’s record.     Flexibility Must be able to rotate shifts as needed. Must be able to cover after hours on a call basis as needed, responding to a call within 30 minutes. Must be able to work/cover holidays as needed.   Supervisory Responsibility: Supervises PRN staff when supervisor is not available.   Work Environment: The Radiologic/CT Technologist must understand and accept the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions, such as radiation, noise, infectious/communicable diseases, and blood and bloodborne diseases. QualificationsPhysical Demands: Must be able the hear conversation from 15 feet Must be able to walk and stand for considerable time periods in the performance of his/her duties (walking and standing accounts for approximately 75% of his/her duties) Must be able to kneel, climb, stoop, bend, reach, lift (a minimum of 50 lbs) and move patients and items that are of various weights. Frequent stressful working conditions require the technologist to be tactful, sensitive and communicate professionally.
