Job Title: Front Desk Receptionist (Community Center)

Department: Parks & Recreation

Reports To: Community Center Assistant Operations Manager

Status: Part Time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Wage Scale: $12.70-$18.04 per hour (Typical starting wage $12.70-$15.37 DOE)

Hours: Saturday, 8am-12pm (May 1- Sept. 30), 8am-4pm (Oct. 1-April 30)

Close Date: June 5, 2026

 

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for performing a variety of clerical, secretarial and administrative support for department. Answers incoming phone calls; assist the public; processes data, documents and reports; and other duties as assigned by the Recreation Manager.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of secretarial and office practices and procedures; business English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation; organization, procedures, and operating details of the City; City government organization, functions, policies, principles, rules, and regulations.
  • Skilled in office management duties; data entry; handling multiple tasks with interruptions; prioritizing and organizing workload.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation; maintain documents; comprehend, interpret, and explain rules and regulations; take initiative; work within a team; deal with people in a manner which shows sensitivity, tact and professionalism.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear and see. Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
