Eaton’s ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a CNC Machinery Operator- 1st shift.  The core hours are 6:00am to 2:30pm.  The hourly rate for this position is $22.52 per hour.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform a wide range of machining operations on two or more Numerically Controlled Lathes, Chuckers or Turning Centers, some of which may be equipped with automatic, robotic or manual load/unload systems and/or related secondary auto/manual equipment.  
  • Operate Six Spindle Automatic Bar Machines.  
  • Assist in the setting up of the equipment as directed.  
  • Work with operation sheets, tapes and blueprints as required.  
  • Operational sequences generally prescribed.  Required to change tooling, load automatic tool changes and maintain quality standards by checking parts with adjustable or fixed gauges.  
  • Assist in isolating and correcting malfunctions in machining and control units.  
  • Perform various internal operations related to producing a finished product.
  • As required, assemble, pack and label various products.  
  • Maintain Material Replenishment System (MRS) as required.  
  • Work from standard work and maintain visual controls and aids (charts, schedules, etc.) and accurate records as directed.
  • Move material to and from work stations.  
  • Maintain work area, machines and control units in a clean, neat and orderly condition.  
  • Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities such as minor maintenance that includes cleaning, inspection, minor lubrication and tightening loose bolts.  
  • Administer the 5-S's. Refer unusual conditions to proper supervision. Follow standard or prescribed safety regulations.  
  • Duties involve application of some specialized knowledge and experience and the use of judgment to plan and perform sequence of operations or procedures within limits of standard or recognized methods and established precedent.

Qualifications:

•    High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
•    6 months of manufacturing experience 
•    6 months of CNC experience unless candidate can read prints and dial calipers then other machining experience is acceptable. 
•    No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within the immediate area of Syracuse, NY (50 miles) will be considered for this position.
