Overview

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health we are seeking a dedicated and passionate Counselor II to work Full-Time Days providing counseling to patients at our Inpatient Rehabilitation & Detox program located on James Street in Syracuse, New York.

 

Hours: 8am-4:30pm Tuesday-Saturday with one 11:30am to 7pm shift

 

In addition to Helio Health’s comprehensive benefits package, Full-Time Licensed Counselors are eligible for a Sign-On Incentive up to $3,500 or $8,000.00 depending upon licensure!

 

Pay Rate: $28.00/hour - $31.00/hr. based on experience and credentials

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Management of program operations and training and supervision of overnight staff
  • Review and approve mandatory documentation to include LOCADTRs
  • Manage crisis situations
  • Ensure staffing meets requirements
  • Works in conjunction with other Willows Leadership 
  • Responsible for overnight service delivery is in sync with daytime operations
  • Maintain a case load. 
  • Perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and orientation, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping.   
  • Assist with the training of staff, volunteers and student interns as assigned.   
  • Exhibit exemplary knowledge of the biopsychosocial process of substance use disorders/recovery, behavioral health, self-help group processes, and principles of counseling.     
  • Relate effectively with staff, patients, and professional community while upholding appropriate standards of confidentiality. 

 

Qualifications

  • Qualified Health Professional (CASAC, LMSW, LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or equivalent licensure or permit eligible) 
  • Master’s Degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required.       
  • Two years employment experience in the Human Services field.        
  • An equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.         
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.
