In the role of Environmental Scientist 1

 

o   Obtain real-world experience in exciting drinking water, wastewater, energy, sustainability, resiliency, and/or ecological restoration projects

o   Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals’ programs

o   Apply standard science and engineering techniques and procedures

o   Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager

o   Perform other duties as needed

o   Example Projects:

o   Habitat Restoration and Mitigation

o   Design concept development

o   Permitting and compliance support

o   Monitoring and reporting

o   Field surveys and bio-benchmarking assessments

o   Offshore Wind construction compliance support

o   Offshore Wind transmission planning

o   Endangered Species Act Permit compliance

o   Ecological and Water Quality Monitoring

o   Support Nanuet Laboratory projects, including field surveys, laboratory analysis, data analysis, and reporting.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

o   Demonstrated knowledge of software packages

o   Local candidates preferred

 



Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field
  • Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • MS Office experience
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
