Together with our clients, we are thinking and doing things differently to help pre-empt and prepare for what's next. Be a part of this dynamic and committed team of diverse water specialists and drive change for your community.
You’ll be able to apply our powerful global network of skills and decades of experience to create positive water outcomes that respect nature and nurture communities.
Who are we looking for?
In response to steady growth within our Water/Wastewater business, our US Design Delivery Organization (DDO) is looking to bring onboard an accomplished Lead Process Engineer to serve as a key technical catalyst, integrating advanced process expertise into the delivery of complex wastewater treatment projects across the United States. Working alongside the firm’s most senior national experts, you will act as a technical bridge—collaborating with regional Project Managers and Client Service Managers to win new work and ensure technical excellence in project execution. You will be instrumental in translating complex engineering fundamentals into practical engineering solutions, while simultaneously mentoring junior staff and elevating the firm’s profile through active participation in professional publications and regional and national conferences. Beyond your national role, you will engage with local clients in New York State to build the regional business through relationship building and finding practical solutions best fit for their needs.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Client & Customer Management (External): Manage important client relationships with guidance from senior colleagues, or oversee relationship management with a group of more transactional clients and customers.
- Community of Practice Management: Participate in and contribute to a community of practice in a defined area of expertise or consulting to build own capability and develop innovative practice among colleagues.
- Engineering Solutions Design: Design engineering solutions and the associated validation process to enable the realization of a design brief (for example, in terms of functionality, performance, aesthetics, and cost) that conform to organizational and/or regulatory standards.
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct complex feasibility studies from a technological and organizational perspective and document findings to complete cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business processes, products, or business unit structure.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Monitor and review performance against health, safety, and environment (HSE) key performance indicators (KPIs) and patterns of behavior within the area of responsibility. Take action to improve performance and to resolve noncompliance with the organization's HSE policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions.
- Product and Solution Development: Analyze and evaluate the feasibility and relevance of proposed complex products and services and develop and amend, as necessary, with guidance from senior colleagues. May also be responsible for supervising activities performed by a product development or specialist team.
- Project Management: Manage a portfolio of projects while reporting to senior colleagues.
- Request for Bid Solicitation/Proposal/Tender Response: Gather information and resources, draft and complete proposals, and fulfill all process requirements (in terms of deadlines, documentation, etc.) in response to complex bid solicitations, request for proposal, and request for tender to create the best chance of being awarded the contract.
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (PhD in Civil or Environmental preferred)
- Professional Engineer license
- 10 years of experience in wastewater treatment and research
- Ability to lead process engineering for a large complex wastewater treatment project
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to develop, mentor and lead professional technical staff
- Strong business development, proposal preparation, and marketing skills
Salary Range: $107,000 - $178,750 based on experience and location.
