Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Adult Medicine

Cedar Park Med is hiring an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for an Adult Medicine acute care setting. This role requires the ability to perform the majority of patient care functions with minimal orientation and supervision while supporting physicians, nurses, and clinical operations in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule / Shift

• Day shift | 8-hour shifts | 5 days a week
• 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (rotating schedule)
• No weekends and no holidays
• 13-week assignment with possible extension

***Hiring for both local and traveler positions! Only candidates outside a 50-mile radius qualify for traveler roles. Rates vary based on experience and whether the position is local or traveler.***

Required Qualifications

• Active LPN license
• Experience in Adult Medicine and/or acute care outpatient setting
• Ability to perform the majority of patient care functions in an acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision
• Proficiency with core clinical tasks: rooming patients, taking/documenting vital signs, preparing patients for exams, assisting during exams/procedures, administering injections

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Experience obtaining insurance authorizations (PT, MRI, CT, surgery, etc.)
• Experience coordinating referrals with primary care physicians (new referrals and extensions

Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care in an acute care setting with minimal supervision
• Room patients, prepare them for exams, and assist physicians during visits/procedures
• Take and document vital signs and patient progress
• Administer injections and assist with Pap smears and other procedures
• Maintain exam rooms and clinical areas
• Support front-office tasks as needed (reception, scheduling, filing, chart prep)
• Coordinate authorizations and referrals (insurance approvals, PCP referrals/extensions)
• Follow nursing care plans, observe patient response to treatment, and report changes
• Participate in nursing unit operations/management activities
