About the RoleĀ 

Ā 

The Patient Access Representative position is responsible for greeting and assisting patients in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner and receiving/answering incoming telephone calls in the same manner, as applicable.Ā  The Patient Access Representative is to be cross-trained in all aspects of reception to supply sufficient coverage.Ā  Certain duties may vary based on office location and department structure.Ā

What You’ll Be DoingĀ 

  • Greets patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner.Ā Ā Ā 

  • Effectively handles the patient check-in/checkout process.Ā 

  • Answers calls addressing appointment times, patient requests and general inquiries within the scope of their position.Ā 

  • Reviews patient’s chart for accuracy prior to upcoming appointment and ensures all required information is included for the physician to see the patient.Ā 

  • Performs scanning and sorting within EMR systemĀ 

  • Verifies and updates current insurance information with the PatientĀ 

  • Collects Patient paymentsĀ 

  • Performs all other duties as assigned.Ā

What We Expect from YouĀ 

  • High School DiplomaĀ 

  • Interact professionally and positively with all patients, colleagues, managers and executive teamĀ 

  • Exhibit a high degree of maturity, integrity, loyalty, creativity, and strict confidentiality with HIPPA compliance in all daily tasks.Ā 

  • One year of experience working in a medical practice or in a health insurance organizationĀ 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skillsĀ 

  • Prior use of EMR systems preferredĀ 

  • Travel to other clinics as neededĀ

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ā

Salary Range: Please note that the hourly range for this position will vary based on experience level, education and geographical location.

$17.45 - $20.50 / hour
