Position Overview:

Deliver specialized emergency care to pediatric patients at an Acute Care/Academic Medical Center in Syracuse. This high-acuity role requires expertise in pediatric emergency medicine within a dedicated trauma center environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Triage and stabilize pediatric emergencies
• Manage high-acuity cases in fast-paced trauma settings
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary trauma teams
• Administer specialized pediatric interventions
• Document care using the EPIC EMR system
• Provide family-centered crisis support
• Maintain readiness for pediatric resuscitation events

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program (RN)
• Licensure: Active NY State RN License; Current BLS & PALS and ACLS preferred
• Experience:
• 2+ years of recent high-acuity Pediatric ER experience
• Experience in an Adult Emergency Department is a plus, but not required
• Candidates with experience limited to combined Adult/Pediatric Emergency Departments will not be considered
• Level 1/2 Trauma Center experience strongly preferred
• Technical Skills: EMR proficiency (EPIC experience preferred)
• Soft Skills: Superior clinical assessment, critical thinking, and rapid decision-making
