Job DetailsJob Location: East Syracuse, NY 13057Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $59,173.00 - $63,000.00 SalaryJob Summary:  The Staff Accountant will be responsible for finance department projects, internal auditing, Grant maintenance and reporting and maintaining the books and records.    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Develops and maintains general ledger account supporting worksheets and documentation.  Maintains schedules of the various lease agreements and assists with renewals and compliance.  Provides back-up to the accounts payable function.  Assists in maintaining the books and records.  Responsibility for finance department special projects.  Responsible for Grant maintenance and reporting.  Provides reports as requested.  Performs financial internal auditing as requested.  Performs other business office functions as requested.  Maintains confidentiality.   Performs other duties, as assigned.   Must possess a valid Driver’s License from New York, or a contiguous state (i.e., Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont) OR Must have the ability to take ample public transportation to attend meetings in person in the community and in the office as needed.  QualificationsEducation and Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.  Two to Three plus years of general accounting experience is required.  Proficiency with the use of excel and other software products used for tracking the flow of information.  Knowledge of accounting procedures required.  Strong technical skills required.  Microsoft Excel experience required.  Microsoft Office 365 experience preferred.  Strong writing and communication skills.  Strong attention to detail.  Compliance focused.  Analytical thinker  Absolute sense of integrity and personal commitment to serving people with I/DD and their families.  Excellent interpersonal, communication organization and demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.   Ability to work autonomously.   Demonstrate professionalism, respect, and ability to work in a team environment.
