Job Summary: This is a temporary role to cover FMLA leave with possibility of staying FT. The Gov Purchasing Assistant – Acts in a support role to functions within  the Contract Administration department. This may include placing purchase orders, open order expediting, entering vendor claims, assisting with quality rejections and billing discrepancies.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Purchase per order requirements
  • Assist in expediting material
  • Negotiate pricing and lead time
  • Assist in resolving quality issues internally and externally
  • Assist with vendor billing discrepancies
  • Assist in sourcing alternative suppliers
  • Assist with receiving discrepancies


Qualifications:  

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Excellent organization and time management abilities
  • Corporate purchasing experience
  • Excellent & professional communication skills
  • Motivated individual & eager to learn 
  • Understand & process information quickly
