We are seeking a strategic finance leader who wants to transform, not simply maintain, a high-performing finance organization. Reporting directly to the COO, this leader will shape the financial future of a nationally recognized organization supporting military medicine and biomedical research innovation. This is a hybrid-remote position; rotationally on-site at our hub sites in Bethesda, MD; Rockville, MD; Fayetteville, NC and Tacoma, WA.
Compensation: $150,000 - $175,000

What You Will LeadÂ
Strategic Finance, Analytics & Business IntelligenceÂ
Establish and mature Geneva's FP&A capability, including long-range financial planning, scenario modeling, forecasting, and senior leadership decision support.Â
Develop predictive financial models and data-driven insights that support strategic decision-making.Â
Build KPIs and financial analytics to improve organizational performance.Â
Partner with senior leadership to identify financial risks, growth opportunities, and operational efficiencies.Â
Translate financial data into actionable recommendations for senior leadership and the Board.Â

Technology &Â InnovationÂ
Develop a finance technology roadmap aligned with Geneva's long-term strategic objectives.Â
Lead modernization of the finance system, reporting platforms, and business processes.Â
Partner with operational leaders to support ERP selection, implementation, and optimization.Â
Champion the responsible use of AI, automation, and advanced analytics to improve financial operations and decision-making.Â
Evaluate emerging technologies that improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, forecasting, and internal controls.Â
Foster a culture of continuous innovation and process improvement.Â

Strategic LeadershipÂ
Develop and execute financial strategies, budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.Â
Provide financial analysis, performance metrics, and risk assessments to senior leadership and the Board.Â
Integrate financial planning with organizational strategic objectives and define metrics to measure progress.Â
Â
Financial Operations & OversightÂ
Lead all accounting functions, including general ledger, month-end close, treasury management, cash forecasting, job cost accounting, budgeting, cash flow, AR/AP, payroll, and financial reporting.Â
Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial data and reports.Â
Oversee P&L reporting, forecasting, and indirect rate variance analysisÂ

Compliance & Government ContractingÂ
Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, DFARS, Uniform Guidance, CAS, DCAA requirements, and nonprofit financial reporting requirements.Â
Direct the preparation of Incurred Cost Proposals (ICPs), provisional rate submissions, and financial audit reports.Â
Manage grant and contract financial reviews and support negotiations as required.Â

Audit & External RelationsÂ
Serve as primary liaison with external auditors, banks, and government agencies.Â
Lead financial, government, and compliance audits with confidence and transparency.Â

Build a high-performing finance organization capable of supporting organizational growth and increasing operational complexity.Â
Develop future finance leaders through succession planning, mentoring, and professional development.Â
Partner with department leaders to monitor financial performance and recommend corrective actions.Â

QualificationsÂ

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldÂ
Minimum 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience Â
Demonstrated success leading both finance and accounting functionsÂ
Extensive knowledge of government contracting compliance and audit requirementsÂ
Experience leading multidisciplinary finance organizations through organizational growth and changeÂ
