Position Summary

The Clinical Director has administrative responsibility and accountability for the planning and direction of clinical, financial, and operational activities of a defined clinical unit/department. The incumbent designs, facilitates and directs the delivery of care and service to customers including patients, staff, physicians, family members and community representatives. The Clinical Director is responsible for the interpretation and development of unit/department patient care standards, provisions of quality health services, resource allocation and fiscal management. The Clinical Director defines and monitors the standards of nursing practice, assures availability and appropriate utilization of needed human and material resources, supports collaboration within Patient Services and among other divisions and disciplines for desired patient outcomes, provides positive timely customer service, and participates in efforts to achieve organizational goals and objectives. This position requires extensive internal and external contacts with all levels of staff, management, physicians, vendors, and other professional colleagues.

Hospital-based leaders may have a dual matrixed reporting structure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or obtained within five (5) years from the initial date of hire; RN with 15+ years of service or internal candidates hired before January 1, 2021 may be considered in satisfaction of this requirement in lieu of an education agreement
  • Advanced degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS)
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Eight (8) years clinical experience and mastery of professional or technical role/function
  • Five (5) years progressive experience in managerial or supervisory capacity

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $192,608.00 - $267,363.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
