GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides EMT level emergency care and ambulance transport for patients who are ill or injured.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk. The employee frequently is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
• Possess a valid EMT license issued by the Oklahoma State Department of Health and maintain throughout employment.
• Possess and maintain throughout employment American Heart Association certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), and/or American Red Cross certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
• Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare.
• Must keep all knowledge and skills current through specific continued education as required by Oklahoma State Department of Health/EMS Division for renewing licensure.
