Special Projects Officer

Analyzes operating procedures to devise most efficient methods of accomplishing work.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in specified field of study as provided by the

department; or six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and

experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

An additional five (5) years progressively responsible experience in specified area as provided by the

department.

Grant knowledge and budget experience preferred 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

 Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that

meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

 Oral and written communication skills, Organizational skills, Detail-oriented, and Project management skills

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and

Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or

listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the

OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT  

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
