Solve by Talent is partnering with the University of Sydney to recruit a Senior Manager, Digital Enablement and Optimisation to support the delivery of key ICT initiatives that help shape the future of education, research, and innovation.
Why join the University of Sydney?
Join one of Australia’s leading universities at a pivotal point of change, where technology is evolving to better support student learning, empower teaching excellence, and enable research delivery at global scale.
ICT is central to delivering the University’s academic mission. Working across faculties, disciplines, and research communities, you will shape the platforms, services, and partnerships that enable student success, strengthen teaching, and accelerate research impact.
This work spans both the critical services that keep the University running every day and the ongoing improvement of systems and experiences.
With strong investment and clear direction, you’ll operate in a large and complex environment where your contribution has visible, meaningful impact across the University.
You’ll collaborate across academic and professional communities to help shape a more connected and capable University, supporting teaching excellence, research impact, and student success.
The opportunity
This is a newly created leadership role designed to strengthen how ICT shows up across the University’s campuses and distributed sites. You will lead Digital Experience and Campus Support, creating a more visible, responsive and people-centred support model that helps local users feel better connected to ICT.
Working across metropolitan and regional locations, you will oversee service performance, campus engagement and operational coordination while helping shape a new capability within a transforming ICT function. It is an opportunity to improve day-to-day service, guide a dispersed team, and influence how digital enablement is delivered across a complex university environment.
What you’ll do
Lead the Digital Experience and Campus Support function, including a team providing visible, face-to-face ICT support across multiple campus locations
Build and optimise a service model that balances local presence, operational responsiveness and alignment with broader ICT priorities
Partner with stakeholders across campuses to understand local needs, improve service outcomes and act as a senior escalation point
Use service feedback, trends and performance insights to inform planning, prioritisation and continuous improvement
Develop team capability, coordinate cross-functional support and help shape a new operating model in a changing environment
What we’re looking for
A people-focused ICT leader with experience managing operational support, service delivery or digital enablement in a complex environment
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build trust across diverse campuses, teams and service partners
Experience leading dispersed, on-the-ground or multi-site support models, ideally within higher education or another distributed organisation
Strong analytical and operational judgement, with the ability to turn service insight into practical improvements
A collaborative leader who is comfortable with ambiguity and motivated by the opportunity to build something new
