Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $110,000 to $180,000 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

What will you be doing?

WWT is seeking a DEVOPS Engineer who will serve on a team of technical engineers in support of multiple government programs. Candidates will be the architect of our CI/CD pipelines, the guardian of our cloud environments, and the bridge between our Software Engineering and IT Operations teams. Your mission is to ensure our software is delivered quickly, reliably, and securely. The ideal candidate will possess good communication, presentation, and writing skills. They will have a proven track record of being a problem solver and team player who is capable of working in a technically challenging environment supporting the Navy.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, build, and maintain modular infrastructure using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Git, and/or Ansible.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Develop and optimize automated build, test, and deployment pipelines to increase engineering velocity.
  • Cloud and Hybrid-Cloud Architecture: Manage and scale cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), ensuring high availability and cost-efficiency.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Deploy and manage microservices using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS/GKE/AKS).
  • Monitoring & Observability: Implement robust logging and monitoring solutions to proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack.
  • Security (DevSecOps): Integrate security best practices into the development lifecycle, including secret management and vulnerability scanning.
  • Knowledge of networking concepts to include:
    • Layer 2/3
    • TCP/IP
    • Firewalls
    • Routing fundamentals
