Build on Your Experience—We’ll Train You in Radiology

We’re seeking candidates with prior work experience: medical or healthcare experience is strongly preferred. While familiarity with scheduling or patient interaction is a plus, we offer fully paid training to teach you the complexities of radiology scheduling and workflows.

  • Training start date: Monday, June 1 

This is an onsite position with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 8a-5p with a hour lunch

  

This position includes:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Answers incoming telephone calls from patients and physician offices in a pleasant and professional manner, and schedules, coordinates and reschedules patient appointments. 
  • Relays necessary messages to staff, screens calls as appropriate and provides accurate and helpful information regarding patient appointments and testing.
  • Ability to work quickly, cheerfully and maintain voice quality during prolonged talking.
  • Proficient language skills – must be able to be understood and to pronounce names.
  • Must be able to maintain phone conversation while verifying and updating necessary information and records in the Radiology Information System. 
  • Maintains and updates current information on technologist schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly and appointments are confirmed. 
  • Maintains a trusting environment by always protecting patient and practice confidentiality.
  • May also make outbound calls to schedule or confirm appointments or to request additional information from patients or providers with the same high level of customer service as inbound calls.
  • Files patients orders and renames order in fax folder.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Requirements

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED.

 

EXPERIENCE: 

One year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. 

Knowledge of medical terminology desirable. 

Word processing and computer experience.


KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of business office procedures. 

Knowledge of medical terminology and coding helpful.

Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type patient information. 


SKILLS:

Skill in operating a computer and copy machine. 

Skill in answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner and using a multi-line telephone system. 


ABILITIES:

Ability to speak clearly and concisely. 

Ability to read, understand, and follow oral, and written instruction. 

Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems. 

Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. 


PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: 

Work may require hand dexterity for telephone and office machine operation, stooping and bending to files and supplies, sitting for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity for using a calculator and computer keyboard.


ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: 

Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent telephone contact with patients and referring physician offices. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Contact involves dealing with vulnerable populations (i.e., elderly, ill and injured) in a compassionate and patient manner.


EXPOSURE DETERMINATION TO BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS:

Category III: Classification in which employee has no occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
