Metal Assembly 1

POSITION SUMMARY

The Metal Assembly Machine operator is responsible for operating and maintaining rotating table machinery used in the marking and assembly of high-security cable seals. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set up, operate, and monitor rotating table machines used in the marking and assembly of high-security cable seals.
• Locating parts in designated area for production runs
• Load and unload metal components and cable assemblies onto machinery.
• Ensure accurate marking/engraving of serial numbers and other identifying data on cable seals per product specifications.
• Conduct quality inspections throughout the process to ensure parts meet dimensional and visual requirements.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of machinery to minimize downtime.
• Document production data, machine settings, and quality checks using appropriate forms or digital systems.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets and resolve issues.
• Follow all safety guidelines, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Tiers determined by ability to operate machines cross-functionally
  1. Tier1: staking and bundling
  2. Tier 2: staking, bundling, material handling, fusing, 1 marking machine
  3. Tier 3: Tier 1 + Tier 2 and running multiple marking machines

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or machine operation role, preferably in metal assembly.
• Ability to read work instructions and product specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
• Basic math and measurement skills using calipers, micrometers, or gauges.

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience operating rotary indexing tables or similar machinery.
• Knowledge of marking/engraving systems (laser, dot-peen, or mechanical).
• Forklift or pallet jack certification is a plus.
