The Medical Lab Technician is responsible for performing and analyzing complex scientific tests in a laboratory setting.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, relevant certification, and laboratory experience, typically requiring a minimum of 1-2 years in the field.
Key responsibilities include maintaining analyzers, running calibrations and quality controls, and reviewing patient samples and results.
The position requires knowledge of specific laboratory equipment such as Beckman AU700 and Beckman DxH560, along with strong technical and problem-solving skills.
Salary for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience, typically ranging from $50,000 to $70,000 annually.

The Medical Lab Technician is responsible for performing and analyzing the results of the complex scientific tests.

Essential Functions

Analyzer Maintenance
Preparing and running calibrations and QCs on analyzers
Monitoring quality control measures and protocols
Running patient samples (serum, whole blood, urine)
Reviewing and reporting of results
Maintaining laboratory logs

Qualifications, Knowledge and Competencies

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Certification by ASCP, AMT, or AAB, Medical Technologist License (or Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist) in State of Florida and laboratory experience.

Knowledge: Beckman AU700, Beckman DxH560, Beckman Access 2

Competencies: Technical Capacity, Decision Making, Problem Solving/Analysis, Results Driven, Pipetting
