To continue delivering unmatched experiences, we’re looking for a driven Assistant Equipment Mechanic to join our team and help keep our operations running smoothly.   About the Role: Keep the Wheels Turning, the Grass Greener As an Assistant Equipment Mechanic, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring that our fleet of golf course maintenance equipment is in top-notch, safe, and efficient working condition. This hands-on position is perfect for a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. If you’re passionate about mechanics and precision, and you’re ready to contribute to maintaining Tampa Bay’s most prestigious golf course, this role is calling your name.   Your Daily Drive (Key Responsibilities): Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects in a variety of golf course vehicles and equipment. Assist the Equipment Mechanic in prioritizing repair and maintenance tasks. Independently perform preventative maintenance and adjust engines, cutting mechanisms, and other components of motorized and mechanized equipment. Use grinders to sharpen mowing equipment and maintain cutting precision. Ensure all equipment is fueled, lubricated, and ready for action. Demonstrate and train maintenance staff on the proper use of new equipment. Maintain an organized inventory of parts, identifying and ordering items as needed. Follow safety protocols and ensure a clean, safe working environment. Support the Agronomy Team with mowing and other operational activities as needed. Contribute to the upkeep of high-quality course equipment and facilities. Attend team meetings, maintain proactive communication, and adhere to all club policies.   Note: The duties and responsibilities outlined above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.   What You Bring to the Team (Qualifications): High school diploma or equivalent, plus three years of relevant experience in golf course equipment mechanics (or a combination of education and experience). Must be at least 18 years old, meeting Florida labor law requirements for operating heavy machinery. A valid driver’s license and comfort operating golf course vehicles. Working knowledge of electric and gas-powered carts, engines, and hydraulics. A meticulous attention to detail and the ability to uphold the highest quality standards. Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit.   Get Hands-On (Physical Demands): Move heavy objects (up to 60 lbs) and tolerate repetitive motion such as walking, kneeling, bending, and crouching. Work outdoors in Florida’s varied temperatures, from winter’s chill to summer’s heat. Stay focused in a moderately noisy environment, adjusting to dynamic challenges with flexibility. Working Conditions: Working conditions will vary between indoor and outdoor settings, depending on the assigned dining area.
