Associate Claims Examiner (Entry-Level) – Property Claims

What You’ll Do
As an Associate Claims Examiner, you will develop the foundational skills necessary to manage first-party property claims of moderate severity while providing exceptional service to policyholders and partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participate in a structured training program (online, classroom, virtual, and on-the-job), which may include occasional travel.
- Manage assigned first-party property claims with oversight, ensuring timely investigation, evaluation, and resolution.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to policyholders, agents, vendors, and internal partners.
- Assist with First Notice of Loss (FNOL), claim intake, dispatch, and claim inquiries.
- Investigate claims by gathering statements, reviewing documentation, and assessing the extent of damages.
- Interpret policy coverage based on claim facts and supporting documentation (leases, contracts, by-laws, etc.).
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation within claims systems in accordance with regulatory and company standards.
- Establish and maintain accurate claim reserves throughout the claim lifecycle.
- Collaborate with internal experts such as Subrogation, Fire Investigators, and Fraud Investigators to support claim outcomes.
- Negotiate fair settlements within authority limits and escalate matters when appropriate.
- Support catastrophic event (CAT) response or workload surges, which may include overtime or occasional travel.
- Ensure all claim activity complies with state regulations, company policies, and claims best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- All Lines Adjuster License required or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 2+ years of customer service or related experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn claims systems quickly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- A customer-focused, empathetic approach, especially when assisting customers during stressful claim situations.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
