About the Internship
Our fall internship program gives students real exposure to the commodities trading industry. Interns work across multiple departments, gaining a broad understanding of the lumber business and what it takes to succeed as a trader at TIFP. The most successful interns are curious, motivated, and eager to learn by doing.
***This is an in-office internship (not remote).
What You’ll Do
Learn the fundamentals of commodity trading and forest products
Gain exposure to logistics, sales, and market dynamics
Build relationships and shadow experienced traders
Develop industry knowledge through hands-on experience

Comfortable talking to people and building relationships
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Organized and able to manage multiple tasks
Comfortable with Excel, Word, and Google Docs
