We are looking for Full time meter readers to read water meters in Hillsborough County, Florida. The applicant must be able to walk 10-15 miles per day while reading meters accurately. Applicant must use their own vehicle which should be in good working condition.

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for reading water utility meters and recording volume used by residential and commercial consumers to ensure accurate consumption and billing. May perform a visual meter inspection to assess the condition and overall operation of the meter and note any visible defects or issues.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle
- Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings: drug test, background check, and driving record
- Must be able to walk up to 10-15 miles a day in all weather conditions
Working Conditions and Hours:
- Day Shift hours, 4 days/week
- Outdoor work environment including rain, extreme cold, or high heat
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests
- Attention to detail and accuracy to record meter data
- Ability to find locations/address by reading a map and handheld device and/or laptop.
- Ability to key data into handheld device and/or laptop. Basic computer skills helpful.
- Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
