Position Summary
The General Laborer I performs general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials throughout Millwork360's manufacturing facility. This role assists a variety of functions with manual labor tasks as needed, supporting the mill, warehouse, and production teams to keep material and product flowing efficiently. The General Laborer I works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area and typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, lift, and move raw materials (hardwood and softwood lumber), molding, doors, and finished products throughout the facility.
- Assist machine operators and production teams with general manual labor tasks as assigned across the rough mill, molding, and door production lines.
- Stage and organize materials and finished goods in the warehouse to support inventory accuracy and efficient order fulfillment.
- Safely operate basic material-handling equipment (e.g., hand trucks, pallet jacks) as directed and trained.
- Keep work areas, walkways, and equipment clean and free of debris in accordance with facility safety standards.
- Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Support other departments and functions with general labor tasks as needed and as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must be proficient at reading a tape measure.
- 0-1 year of general work experience; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- A moderate understanding of general aspects of the job is expected; comprehensive training is provided on-site.
- Ability to work under the close direction of senior personnel and follow instructions accurately.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or millwork environments is a plus but not required.\
- Ability to read, write, and understand English to effectively perform the essential functions of the position is required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs, with occasional lifting of heavier items with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout a shift.
- Comfortable working in a mill/manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Ability to safely work around moving machinery and material-handling equipment.
