Job DetailsJob Location: FLA-Tampa Area Command - Tampa, FL 33602Position Type: Full Time RegularEducation Level: High School Diploma/GEDSalary Range: $17.75 - $19.50 HourlyJob Category: Food ServiceSchedule/Hours: Schedule will vary between both shifts – 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Days will vary. Some weekends included.  This position is responsible for:  Plans, prepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules; ensures all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner; cleans kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances; maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner. Assigns, instructs and monitors work of other cooks and food service workers.  Key Responsibilities:  Assigns, instructs, and monitors work of other cooks and food service workers; ensures meals and snacks are prepared as planned.  Plans menus and recommends purchase of food and supplies necessary for the preparation and serving of nutritional meals.  Cleans, cooks, and prepares a variety of foods and beverages utilizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and supplies in accordance with acceptable and economical cooking methods.   Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  Ability to meet attendance requirements.  Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.  Ability to cook, taste, and smell food.  Ability to perform lifting duties.  Ability to life and carry moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies, and equipment frequently.  Duties are usually performed by frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling, or squatting relieved by lesser period of sitting.  Employee Benefits:  Paid Time Off  Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance  Retirement Savings Plan Available  Life Insurance and more!  WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU High School diploma or equivalent AND  Three years’ experience cooking food for large groups with some experience coordinating the work of other kitchen staff OR  Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS: Food Handler’s certification  Valid State driver’s license may be required   Equal Opportunity Employer: Veterans | Disabled
