Allegro Hyde Park is hiring a skilled, dependable Maintenance Assistant to support facility operations at one of Tampa's most prestigious senior living communities. With a consistent Sunday–Thursday schedule, you'll always have Friday and Saturday off — and spend your workweek keeping a beautiful community running at its best.

What You'll Do:

• Assist with HVAC maintenance and basic system upkeep
• Perform painting, drywall repair, and touch-up work throughout the community
• Handle plumbing repairs and general maintenance tasks as needed
• Complete work orders promptly and professionally
• Support the maintenance team in keeping the community safe, clean, and well-maintained
• Be a reliable, skilled presence residents and staff can count on every shift

What You Bring:

• Experience in any of the following — preferred:
  • HVAC maintenance
  • Painting and drywall repair
  • Plumbing
  • General building or facilities maintenance
• Dependable, self-motivated, and takes pride in a well-maintained environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude
• No certifications required

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Assistant is to assist the Maintenance Director (MD) in maintaining and operating the physical aspects of the Property.

Areas of Responsibility

• Assist the MD to ensure that the Community is always covered in the event of an emergency.
• Assist the MD in the preventative and routine maintenance programs to ensure that mechanical equipment, building structures and grounds are properly maintained.
• Assist the MD in the safe operation of all mechanical equipment through routine physical inspections.
• Assist MD to ensure that all maintenance work and storage areas are maintained in a safe, organized, and clean manner.
• Assist MD in maintaining online work order system, efficiently use the system and help delegate work orders to staff. 
• Follow OSHA and Company guidelines relating to lock down and tag out procedures that are approved for the Community and follow OSHA standards for safe working procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Minimum of one (1) year maintenance-related experience including working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
• Must be an independent worker with effective communication skills able to multi-task and be organized.
• Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
• The Community is a drug free workplace; associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.
• If assigned driving responsibilities, the associate must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company Fleet Safety standards. Driving duties are incidental to the primary responsibilities of this position and may be assigned based on business needs.
• MVR reviews will be conducted at hire and periodically thereafter in accordance with Company policy. Associates who do not meet or maintain Company driving standards may be ineligible to perform driving duties; however, such determination will not automatically affect continued employment in the position where driving is not an essential function.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school diploma preferred.
• HVAC and other related maintenance certifications desirable.
