JOB SUMMARY:
Professional-level position responsible for developing and producing multimedia content in support of the communications activities of the Hillsborough County Property Appraiser’s Office.
The Multimedia Communications Specialist plans, creates, and manages content across digital and traditional communication platforms, including photography, videography, social media, digital graphics, and broadcast materials. This position applies creative and technical expertise to produce engaging visual content that highlights office programs, services, activities, and initiatives.
This role requires proficiency in multimedia production, digital communication tools, social media content development, and the organization and management of digital media assets.

- Plan, develop, and produce multimedia content in support of office communication initiatives
- Capture, edit, and produce professional photography and videography for office communications, presentations, social media, special events, and other approved uses
- Develop digital graphics, videos, and other visual content for social media and communication materials
- Create, schedule, and manage content for the office’s social media platforms
- Assist with the planning, scheduling, recording, and production of broadcast and video content
- Organize and maintain photographs, videos, graphics, recordings, and other digital media assets
- Monitor social media activity, engagement, and content performance and compile related analytics as needed
- Provide photography, videography, and multimedia production support for office programs, events, public education, and community engagement activities
- Collaborate with departments and team members to identify multimedia needs and develop appropriate content and materials
- Prepare multimedia materials in accordance with established office standards and accessibility requirements
- Maintain awareness of emerging practices, trends, platforms, technologies, and production techniques related to multimedia and digital communications
- Perform other related duties as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify for this position, an individual would have a combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience equivalent to what is described below.
High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in multimedia production, digital communications, content creation, photography, videography, social media, or a related field; OR associate degree in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Production, or a related field and three (3) years of experience as listed above; OR bachelor’s degree in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Production, or a related field and one (1) year of experience as listed above.
In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.
Special Qualifications (May be required depending on area of assignment):Â
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Assignment to work a variety of work schedules, including evenings or weekends, as necessary to support office programs, events, and activities
- Other knowledge, skills, abilities, and credentials required for a specific position
 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Â
- Knowledge of multimedia communication and digital content development principles and practices
- Knowledge of photography and videography techniques, equipment, and production practices
- Knowledge of digital media production, editing, and file management practices
- Knowledge of social media platforms, content development practices, and audience engagement
- Knowledge of basic graphic design principles and visual communication techniques
- Knowledge of social media analytics and methods for evaluating content performance
- Knowledge of accessibility considerations applicable to digital and multimedia communications
- Skill in capturing, editing, and producing professional-quality photography and video content
- Skill in using multimedia editing, graphic design, social media management, and other digital communication tools
- Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products and applicable department or organization-specific software, with the ability to learn and become proficient in specialized software as required
- Skill in organizing and maintaining digital photographs, videos, graphics, recordings, and related media assets
- Ability to develop creative visual content appropriate for different communication platforms and audiences
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both orally and in writing
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively with departments and team members in planning and producing multimedia content
- Ability to exercise sound judgment when creating, selecting, and publishing content on behalf of the office
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those interacted with during work regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, disability, marital status, gender, age, pregnancy or any other class protected by law.
