Responsibilities

The Payroll and Compliance Specialist is responsible for processing accurate and timely biweekly payroll for 600+ employees, ensuring full compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations, and serving as the primary point of contact for all payroll-related audit activity. This role maintains a strong controls orientation, proactively identifies compliance risk, and partners with HR leadership to strengthen the accuracy and integrity of payroll operations.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or additional 4 years of related experience in lieu of degree, required.
A minimum of three years of payroll processing experience, including multi-state payroll, with an enterprise HRIS platform required; Dayforce (Ceridian) experience strongly preferred.
Strong working knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws, payroll tax regulations, and compliance required.
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to read, write, speak and type English.
Must be able to hear and use a telephone.
Use of computer requires repetitive keystrokes.

Work Environment:

This role is fully remote, with the option to work from our HQ or retail locations.
As part of your role, you will occasionally travel between Grow locations within the Tampa Bay area.
Qualified candidates must live in the Tampa Bay area.
