DeliverCareRx is an innovative national home delivery hospice pharmacy licensed in all 50 states.  We are partnered with Optum Hospice Pharmacy Services, the largest pharmacy benefit manager in the hospice industry. DeliverCareRx is committed to providing effective solutions and high touch customer service to ultimately improve patient outcomes while exceeding the needs of our partners and healthcare providers. 


Currently, DeliverCareRx is searching for a Staff Pharmacist who will also be the Pharmacist in Charge at our Tampa, Florida pharmacy. This role is responsible for processing prescriptions for hospice patients as well as ensuring the pharmacy is in compliance with all federal and state regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Key elements of the role can include:

  • Ensure DeliverCareRx remains in compliance with all federal and state regulations
  • Ensure policies and procedures are enforced and followed throughout the organization
  • Proactively advise on any new or changed federal/state regulations
  • Ensure timely renewal of pharmacy employee licenses, Federal DEA, pharmacy state and controlled substance licenses and all other facility licenses
  • Effectively communicate with timely and detailed follow up on any needed information regarding regulations
  • Ensure pharmacy self-inspections and all record keeping are properly maintained and filed, including but not limited to prescriptions, invoices and inventory records
  • Collaborate with co-workers and other healthcare professionals to acquire and review prescriptions to determine appropriate medication therapy 
  • Review and verify physician medication orders on a daily basis
  • Oversee medications prepared by pharmacy technicians
  • Provide Drug Utilization Review
  • Focus on quality assurance to correctly interpret physician orders and to prevent medication errors
  • Provide high quality customer service to patients and caregivers
  • Counsel patients and caregivers on medication therapy as needed
  • Utilize sound judgment to make appropriate decisions in the best interest of patients and the company
  • Assist with inventory functions including, but not limited to physical inventory, cycle counting, medication adjustments
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements

  • B.S. or PharmD degree
  • Current State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License
  • PIC experience preferred
