On behalf ofour client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced SharedServices Accountant to work in Nairobi, Kenya.

Job Purpose

To monitorsound financial management and internal control systems to support the overallstrategy of the company. To provide financial accounting and reporting supportfor the subsidiaries, prepare financial and management accounts and reports,review accounts and management reports for subsidiaries, prepare consolidatedaccounts, and coordinate and consolidate the financial reporting of thesubsidiaries and associates. To provide accurate and timely financial reportsand ensure integrity of financial data.

KeyResponsibilities

1. FinancialManagement

·         Coordinate the preparation of budgets, cash flow forecasts, andbusiness plans.

·         Monitor performance against budget.


2. FinancialAccounting

·         Ensure sound account management and accurate maintenance of thegeneral ledger, bank records, stocks, and assets of the business for companiessupported.


3. Cash &Expense Management

·         Recommend payments and prepare payment remittances for thesubsidiaries.

·         Review payment remittances for the subsidiaries and recommendfor approval.

·         Manage expense activities within approved limits.


4. FinancialReporting

·         Prepare accurate and timely financial, management, andconsolidated reports and schedules.

·         Develop and present comprehensive, accurate, and informativereports that facilitate informed and sound decision-making.

·         Ensure trends, insights, concerns, and recommendations areclearly elaborated.


5. Compliance

·         Adhere and comply with policies, procedures, and statutoryguidelines.

·         Monitor that gaps/lapses identified are closed in line withcorrective and preventative actions identified by audits, compliance reviews,investigations, or other assessment mechanisms within agreed timelines.


6.Productivity & Performance

·         Deliver performance objectives set and institute immediatecorrective action where performance is below par.

·         Proactively manage own learning and development.

·         Adhere to the annual leave plan agreed with line manager.

·         Adhere to HR policies.


7. Reporting

·         Prepare and submit reports to relevant stakeholders withinagreed format and timelines (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly).

·         Present reports that facilitate informed and sounddecision-making.



Requirements

Education

·         University Degree in Finance, B.Com, or BIT with CPA (K) orequivalent accounting qualification.


Experience

·         Minimum of 5 years' relevant accounting experience.

·         3–5 years' experience in realestate property management and construction projects accounting.

·         Previous experience coordinating ERP systems.


TechnicalSkills

·         Detailed accounting skills.

·         Strong analytical skills.

·         Broad knowledge of new and existing accounting standards.

·         Professional level proficiency in MS Office applications (Word,Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook).

·         Project management skills.
