Responsibilities

Reports To: Quality Operations Leader

 

The Quality Analyst is responsible for supporting operational excellence across Quality Operations by analyzing performance, identifying opportunities, improving workflows, and driving execution of key initiatives. This role partners closely with clinical, operational, analytics, technology, and compliance teams to improve quality performance while ensuring data accuracy, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

 

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and naturally curious. They demonstrate ownership of their work, proactively solve problems, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes. They are self-directed, exercise sound judgment, and consistently deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis & Performance Monitoring:

    • Analyze operational and quality performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

    • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and scorecards that support operational decision-making.

    • Validate data accuracy and investigate discrepancies across multiple systems.

    • Perform root cause analysis and summarize findings into actionable recommendations.

    • Monitor key performance indicators and communicate notable trends to leadership.

  • Operational Execution:

    • Execute assigned Quality Operations initiatives by coordinating deliverables, monitoring progress, and ensuring operational objectives remain on track.

    • Coordinate assigned deliverables across stakeholders while ensuring work is completed accurately, on schedule, and aligned with operational priorities.

    • Monitor operational performance, identify emerging risks, and recommend appropriate actions to support successful outcomes.

    • Identify operational risks early, recommend mitigation strategies, and escalate issues before they impact performance.

    • Implement approved workflow enhancements and operational improvements while monitoring adoption and effectiveness.

  • Process Improvement:

    • Evaluate existing workflows and recommend opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and consistency.

    • Document operational processes and maintain standard operating procedures.

    • Participate in process improvement initiatives and assist with implementation of approved changes.

    • Support automation and technology enhancements designed to improve operational effectiveness.

    • Promote standardization and best practices across Quality Operations.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Support:

    • Partner with Clinic Operations, Pharmacy, Analytics, Technology, Compliance, and other internal teams to support Quality initiatives.

    • Facilitate meetings, document key decisions and action items, and drive timely follow-up to support successful execution of operational initiatives.

    • Serve as a reliable operational resource by providing analytical support and responding to stakeholder inquiries.

    • Build positive working relationships across departments while supporting shared organizational goals.

  • Quality & Regulatory Compliance:

    • Support compliance with CMS, NCQA, HEDIS, Medicare Advantage, and organizational quality standards.

    • Participate in quality audits and assist with corrective action planning.

    • Maintain accurate documentation supporting operational activities and regulatory requirements.

    • Stay informed of regulatory and operational changes impacting Quality Operations.

  • Communication & Reporting:

    • Prepare professional reports, presentations, and summaries for leadership.

    • Clearly communicate analytical findings and operational recommendations to stakeholders.

    • Tailor communications to executive, operational, and technical audiences to ensure information is clear, concise, and actionable.

    • Ensure documentation and communications are accurate, timely, and audience appropriate.

Position Requirements:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • 1+ year(s) of experience in healthcare operations, quality improvement, analytics, HEDIS, Medicare Advantage, or a related operational role.

    • Experience working with healthcare data and performance reporting preferred.

    • Experience supporting cross-functional operational initiatives preferred.

  • Knowledge & Technical Skills:

    • Knowledge of healthcare quality programs and initiatives, including HEDIS, CMS, NCQA, Medicare Advantage, or related quality programs.

    • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and translate findings into meaningful operational insights.

    • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing initiatives while maintaining accuracy, attention to detail, and established deadlines.

    • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

    • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, providers, and health plans.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal and presentation capabilities.

    • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.

    • Experience with healthcare technology platforms, electronic medical records (EMRs), reporting systems, and/or analytics tools preferred.

    • Results-oriented with a demonstrated focus on quality, accuracy, execution, and timely delivery.

    • Demonstrated ability to handle data with confidentiality.

    • Appreciation of cultural diversity and sensitivity toward target patient populations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, including sitting or standing, for prolonged periods while performing job duties.

  • Ability to frequently operate a computer and other standard office equipment.

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and fingers, including typing and other computer-based work.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and exchange information in person, by telephone, and through virtual communication platforms.
