JOB DESCRIPTION: SECURITY GUARD

General Description:

Unless otherwise defined by applicable law, any employment relationship with this organization is of an “at-will” nature, which means that the Employee may resign at any time and the Employer may discharge Employee at any time with or without cause.

As an unarmed Security Guard the main duty will be to ensure the building or surrounding areas in the ship yard assigned to you, in order to promote a secure environment. Works under the general supervision of the Site Supervisor or Physical Security Specialist. 

Essential Functions:

The individual assigned to this position must, with or without reasonable accommodation, be able to perform the following Essential Functions

Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitors surveillance equipment and inspects buildings, equipment, and access points and permitting entry.

Deter and report damage, pilferage, removal, misuse, larceny, theft, or other improper or unlawful threats. Notify appropriate personnel and authorities of fire, invasions, or other security threats.

Discover and detain person attempting to gain access unauthorized access to the property or security areas.

Maintain in/out logs of sub-contractors, vendors and visitors. 

Conduct security patrols as directed including patrolling the parking lot on a routine basis. Perform security compliance checks on a random basis and inspect bills of lading on incoming deliveries. 

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, maintaining a disposition of constant awareness.

Must be able to with-stand the demands and physical conditions of a shipyard or outdoor spaces.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and be computer literate is required.

This Position is Local only.  8 hour shifts @16.00 hr.
