Senior Commercial Lines Account Executive

Position Summary: 

The Senior Commercial Lines Account Executive serves as a trusted advisor to clients and a key partner to producers, managing complex commercial insurance relationships while delivering exceptional service and technical expertise. This role is responsible for the marketing, placement, renewal, and ongoing servicing of commercial property and casualty accounts, ensuring clients receive comprehensive risk management solutions tailored to their business needs. The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable in commercial insurance coverages, carrier markets, and brokerage operations, with a proven ability to build strong client relationships, support business development efforts, and contribute to agency growth through account retention, coverage enhancements, and proactive client engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management & Service

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned commercial accounts, providing consultative guidance on coverage, risk management, and insurance program design.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and proactive account reviews.
  • Analyze client exposures and recommend appropriate coverage solutions to address changing business needs.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries, policy changes, coverage requests, and service-related issues.

Marketing & Placement

  • Market new and renewal business to insurance carriers and wholesale brokers as appropriate.
  • Prepare comprehensive insurance submissions, including Construction, Occupancy, Protection, and Exposure (COPE) data, loss history, surveys, and claims analyses.
  • Negotiate coverage terms, conditions, and pricing with carriers to secure favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Evaluate carrier quotations and coverage alternatives to ensure clients receive competitive and appropriate insurance solutions.

Producer Support & Business Development

  • Partner with producers to support prospecting, proposal development, and client presentations.
  • Provide technical expertise regarding commercial property and casualty coverage forms, endorsements, exclusions, and market conditions.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for cross-selling, account rounding, increased limits, and additional coverage placements.
  • Support new business initiatives through strategic account planning and market research.

Account Administration & Documentation

  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate insurance applications, renewal documents, proposals, and policy records.
  • Document all client and carrier communications regarding exposures, coverage recommendations, policy changes, and service activities.
  • Maintain complete and compliant account files within agency management systems and document management platforms.
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with agency procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Active Florida 2-20 General Lines (Property & Casualty) License.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Commercial Lines insurance within the Florida marketplace.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance products, coverage analysis, rating principles, and carrier markets.
  • Working knowledge of insurance regulations, compliance requirements, and brokerage operations.
  • Experience with agency management systems; Applied Epic preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and carrier portal systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive client and agency information.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, as permitted by law.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CISR, ACSR, CIC, CRM, or other industry-related professional designation.
  • Current enrollment in INS, API, or other insurance education programs.
  • Experience with middle-market and complex commercial accounts.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment, exposure analysis, and risk management strategies.
  • Advanced understanding of specialized commercial coverages and niche industry insurance products.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm (Hybrid Work Options)
