Senior International Relations Strategy SME

Role Summary Serves as the senior strategist advising the J3I on international relations strategy, policy, and doctrine. Provides expert analysis linking geopolitical dynamics, partner relationships, and strategic objectives to J3I plans and engagement priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide senior-level strategic analysis and advice on international relations, regional dynamics, and partner-nation relationships supporting J3I objectives.
  • Develop and refine strategy, policy, and doctrine products that shape international engagement and campaign planning.
  • Support interagency and coalition coordination, aligning J3I strategy with national security guidance, international agreements, and command priorities.
  • Author strategic assessments, position papers, and doctrine recommendations for senior leaders.
  • Advise on strategic engagement priorities, agreements, and long-range planning.
  • Mentor junior analysts and integrate strategy across the J3I staff.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree (preferred) in international relations, strategic studies, national security policy, or related field; senior operational experience considered.
  • 10+ years of experience in strategy, policy, doctrine development, or international affairs at the combatant command, joint staff, or national level.
  • Demonstrated expertise in interagency coordination and strategic engagement.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Exceptional analytical, writing, and senior-leader briefing skills; regional expertise/language a plus
