Social Media Manager - Secret Clearance - MacDill AFB, FL

Position Overview 

The Social Media Manager leads SOCOM’s digital and social media presence, ensuring clear, secure, and strategic engagement across platforms. This role serves as the command’s primary social media authority and advisor, working closely with PA leadership and senior officials in a high‑visibility, high‑security environment. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop and execute SOCOM’s social media strategy
• Manage and optimize content across all official platforms
• Create and oversee multimedia content tailored to social media audiences
• Monitor engagement, public sentiment, and emerging issues
• Manage crisis communication and misinformation response
• Track analytics and develop performance reports for leadership
• Coordinate messaging with internal and external PA partners
• Provide training, guidance, and best practices across the command
• Ensure compliance with DoD policies, OPSEC, and cybersecurity standards 

• Possess active Secret Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Marketing, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in social media management, public affairs, or digital communications
• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting senior leaders (at the CEO / General Officer Level) with managing social media platforms.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in conducting social media analytics and generating performance reports using management and analytics platforms
• Minimum 2 years of experience utilizing Adobe Creative Suite
• Minimum 2 years of experience providing support for military communication guidelines, OPSEC, and public affairs protocols as military, civilian, or contractor personnel.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with prompt engineering for generative AI tools used to create social media content and analysis. 

Location & Hours 

• On-site at HQ USSOCOM and HQ SOCCENT, MacDill AFB, FL
• Monday–Friday (Federal holidays excluded)
• Core hours: 0900–1500
