We're currently hiring for Utility Meter Readers in Tampa, FL!

NO EXPERIENCE is required with paid training! If you consider yourself an independent worker and enjoy being outside, this job is for you!

All of our meter readers are provided with:

Company vehicle provided
Fuel Card provided for vehicle
Competitive benefit package
Paid training $19.10/hour for first couple weeks before transitioning to piece rate
Earning potential to earn over $19/hour through our piece rate depending on amount of meters read!

Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for reading and recording volume used by residential and commercial consumers to ensure accurate consumption and billing. May perform a visual meter inspection to assess the condition and overall operation of the meter and note any visible defects or issues.

Requirements:

Valid driver’s license
Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings: drug test, background check, and driving record
Must be able to walk up to 10-15 miles a day in all weather conditions

Working Conditions and Hours:

Hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm and some weekends as required
Outdoor work environment including rain, snow, extreme cold, or high heat
Driving company vehicle to and from work sites may be exposed to road related hazards.

Knowledge and Abilities:

Successfully complete the company’s training program and pass applicable written and field tests
Attention to detail and accuracy to record meter data
Ability to find locations/address by reading a map and handheld device and/or laptop.
Ability to key data into handheld device and/or laptop. Basic computer skills helpful.
Learn and apply safety measure relating to motor vehicle operation and other field related matters
