Inside Sales Representative

Description

The inside sales position handles both sales and customer service. An inside sales representative communicates daily with customers, vendors, outside sales, and our warehouse to make sure that orders are quoted and shipped in a timely manner. Duties for this position include:

• Entry of customer orders and quotes into our order processing system
• Answer phone calls and emails to assist customers
• Provide excellent customer service including assessing customer needs, providing recommendations/solutions, and updating customers on order status
• Track open sales orders and purchase orders
• Review inventory availability and communicate with purchasing
• Order non-stock or short items from approved vendors
• Identify revenue opportunities in collaboration with outside sales representatives
• Always expand product knowledge to better assist customers

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills to answer phone calls and assist customers
• Good typing skills and basic computer proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Ability to maintain professional conduct and interact effectively with all employees and customers
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Great attention to detail
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, other language skills are a plus
• Regular and timely attendance to ensure desired service level to all customers, internal and external
• High School diploma required

Preferred:

• At least 2 years experience selling in an inside sales environment
• Experience in the Pipe, Valve, & Fitting or Construction field
• Experience with Prophet 21
