The Executive Producer supervises news content across all media platforms for a specific daypart.

  • Oversee the editorial process for stories in multiple newscasts and digital platforms
  • Manage team of producers and productions of newscasts
  • Define strategic direction for content coverage to meet editorial objectives
  • Approve stories and scripts in newscasts
  • Work with Reporters and Anchors in developing stories and social media presence
  • Lead team in breaking news situations
  • Work on special projects as assigned
  • Recruit, hire and schedule producers along with other Executive Producers
  • Execute strategies that engage and grow audiences across all platforms
  • Collaborate with Marketing Department on the daily execution of news promos

Requirements & Skills:

  •  Bachelor's Degree in Communications, TV/film or the equivalent
  • At least 5 years’ experience in television or radio broadcast/production
  • Must be able to interact well with video journalists, anchors, videographers, news managers, production and engineering staff
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal, written, and analytical skills
  • Strong news judgment, journalistic integrity and understanding of viewer needs and expectations
  • Utilize state-of-the-art television technology
