The primary responsibility of the Research Scientist/Lab Manager will be to manage all aspects of laboratory activity such as materials ordering, inventory management, documentation and records management, maintenance of equipment, IACUC records, and other related duties as necessary to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. The candidate will conduct some laboratory research activities such as preparation of chemical and buffer stocks, training students in lab protocols, and assisting postdocs with experiments. The candidate is expected to be well-organized, collegial, have good communication skills, work well in a group setting, and interact closely with the Principal Investigator, students, postdocs, and scientists in the lab to ensure smooth running of the lab. Accurate record-keeping and attention to detail are critical for this role. At least one year of experience working in an academic research lab is required, and prior lab managerial experience is a plus.
