HDR is looking for a Control Systems Intern to support our global Control Systems practice which includes full-service capabilities. Our practice provides assessment, planning, design, automation programming/configuration, testing & commissioning, and maintenance for control systems in multiple industries.

The primary role of this position is to support the planning, design, and implementation of automated industrial control systems in coordination with clients and multidiscipline teams to develop solutions for construction and implementation in multiple market sectors including, food & beverage; general industrial; oil & gas; logistics, manufacturing; mining; transportation; and water/wastewater.

In this role, the Control Systems Intern will work under the direction of a Senior Control Systems Engineer and/or System Control Engineer to design industrial control and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, assisting with the evaluation and selection of equipment and system components.

In the role of Control Systems Intern, we'll count on you to:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Participate in the design of complex supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with selection and specification of process instrumentation, control panels, and network equipment.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with development of biddable and technically accurate instrumentation and control system construction documents.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with the development of software applications for automation such as programmable logic controller (PLC) and human machine interface (HMI).

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Gain real-world experience on exciting projects

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications聽
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to field of study/industry
  • Local candidates preferred聽
