Summary:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Under the supervision of the Contractor Sales Manager or Branch Manager, works directly with contractor customers and homeowners selling lumber & building materials.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
- Serves contractors and homeowners, either in person or via phone, preparing quotes, selling materials, and scheduling deliveries.
- Adheres to company policy regarding order quotes, creating customer orders, and taking deposits on orders.
- Responsible for assigned cash drawer and proper currency handling procedures.
- Processes returns of material in the Spruce computer system, as well as requesting RMA’s from vendors.
- Approaches customers and offers assistance
- Exercises courtesy dealing with customers
- Makes every effort to locate non-stock product for customers.
- Suggest additional items for customers to complete their project.
- Encourages additional sales with helpful attitude and relationship building skills.
- Keeps aware of low or out of stock situations.
- Utilizes price book and product catalogues.
- Offers advice and assistance to customers purchasing millwork.
- Confers with supervisor regarding unusual or large customer orders as well as special pricing.
- Keeps aware of advertised and sale items.
- Coordinates deliveries with dispatcher.
- Ensures delivery directions to job sites are accurate.
- Verifies identity of purchasers using in-house charge accounts.
- Verifies identity of customers issuing a check for payment of merchandise.
- Assists in maintaining cleanliness of store location.
- Expedites solutions to customer complaints or refers to a supervisor.
- Maintain an acceptable gross margin to forecast.
- Follow instructions, work without supervision, and complete assignments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work productively; number of sales per day, add on sales, quotes to orders, suggestive selling, etc.
- Coordinate returns and credits for incorrectly ordered customer orders.
- Attend training and education seminars, as well as reading periodicals, to keep up to date regarding industry changes and new products.

- Adheres to all Company operational and security policies.
- Help collect past-due balances and communicate any negative/positive Â
    changes to existing accounts.
- Achieves individual sales goals as determined by budget forecasts.
- Assists in the training of new associates
- Assists other associates when needed
