Job Summary: 

To greet and welcome guests in an enthusiastic, friendly, and sincere manner. Assist with food ordering and service systems. Collects payments by accepting cash, check, or charge payments from customers and makes change for cash customers. Operating credit card authorization systems. Balances cash drawer by counting cash at beginning and end of work shift. Make a fantastic first impression and ensure all guests leave happy and satisfied.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure all floor signage is available, clean, and in good repair.
  • Inspect menus for cleanliness and crispness and change out when necessary and alert managers if new ones are needed with ample time to re-print.
  • Walk through dining area and note and/or correct any irregularities (lights burned out, furniture crooked, missing tableware, etc.) Check dining room and floors for cleanliness and act where needed.
  • Answer phones respond to questions and take orders accurately and courteously.
  • Be knowledgeable about upcoming events and special occasions/holiday menus, formats, restrictions, pricing, and cancellation policies to provide accurate information to guests.
  • In bathroom, check and restock paper towels, seat covers, and toilet paper. Removing all trash bags and line trash cans. Wipe down countertops and remove water spots on mirrors. Pick up trash off floor. 
  • Assist in cleaning duties, including sweeping and mopping as needed.
  • Acknowledge and thank guests when they are leaving, remind them to return, ask about their dining experience and follow up with management with any guest feedback.
  • Maintain professional appearance and make a great first and last impression as you’re the first face in the door.
  • Be well-trained with P.O.S. system, performing accurate cashiering functions.
