SUMMARY

Daily running of manufacturing equipment (extrusion) as well as other duties typical of manufacturing.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Start up and shut down of all production and manufacturing equipment as required.
  2. Repair of all production and manufacturing equipment as required.
  3. Responsible for quality of product being produced. Attention to detail and work within company quality system (ISO 9001 and ISO 13485).
  4. Package finished product for storage and shipping according to standards (labeling, product counts, boxing, shrink wrapping).
  5. Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  6. Complete daily logs as needed (production run sheets, quality control records, packaging request, production reporting, etc.).
  7. Documentation per Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Training provided.
  8. Perform preventive maintenance on production lines and packaging equipment as scheduled.
  9. Operate forklift (if required after training).
  10. Communicate with operators from other shifts as well as engineers and quality and same shift employees.
  11. Clean and maintain work area.
  12. Follow all safety rules.
  13. Use required Personal Protective Equipment.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Perform back up for coworkers when necessary.
  2. Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
  3. Maintain material supply adhering to just in time manufacturing principles. Notify purchasing when shipping and manufacturing supplies are running low.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  1. High school/vocational school diploma (additional trade skills are a plus).
  2. Computer skills.
  3. Mechanical aptitude.
  4. Manual dexterity required for operating machinery.
  5. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
  6. Ability to lift up to 51 lbs.

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
