At Thornbury Community Services (TCS), we believe exceptional care starts with genuine connections. We’re looking for Support Worker within Mental Health Services who are committed to making a real difference—people who truly care and want to build long-term partnerships with those they support.

This isn’t just a job; it’s an opportunity to empower an individual with severe anxiety & depression, obsessive compulsive behaviours & ME & fibromyalgia to live a safe, fulfilled life. You’ll help clients achieve personal goals, explore new hobbies, and enjoy trips into the community—all while creating relationships that bring lasting satisfaction for both you and them.

You will work in varying ratios of 1:1 and 2:1 shifts, with the opportunity for shadow shifts beforehand. You will be trained specifically to care for the client. You should be a patient, caring and compassionate person. You will have an understanding of complex mental health conditions and learn how best to comfort and support our client day-to-day.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver person-centred care within the client’s own home.
  • Maintain safety whilst making positive risk decisions.
  • Enrich life and promote independence.
  • Build trust and long-term relationships that make every day meaningful.

What We Offer

We value our support workers and provide a benefits package designed to help you thrive:

  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – confidential wellbeing support.
  • Travel and mileage expenses – reimbursed for your shifts.
  • Exceptional pay rates – among the highest in the UK.
  • Bespoke training and competency development – keep growing in your career.

What We’re Looking For

We want passionate, resilient professionals who can commit to delivering care without exception. To join our team, you’ll need:

  • 12 months UK-based experience in a community setting.
  • Confidence in maintaining risk and using physical intervention where required.
  • Confidence in utilising PBS standards within services.
  • Strong personal values and ethical standards.
  • Dedication, commitment and stability.
  • A genuine desire to build lasting relationships and make a positive impact.

Why Choose TCS?

Joining Thornbury means joining a compassionate team that values people—not just as clients, but as individuals. You’ll enjoy job satisfaction, and the chance to make a difference that lasts.
