POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of the Director of Laboratory, the Medical Technologist Coordinator assists the Director of Laboratory in providing overall direction of the Laboratory.

  • oversees day-today operations of the Microbiology department.
  • This role ensures testing accuracy, regulatory compliance, and team efficiency.
  • The ideal candidate will manage QC/QA processes, supervise lab personnel, and maintain protocols that meet CLIA, CAP, and FDA standards.
  • Candidate will also work as a Generalist in core lab.
  • Applies general knowledge of instrumentation in all areas of the POC.
  • Applies general knowledge of quality control in all areas of the POC.
  • Performs preventive maintenance of POC instrumentation.
  • Maintains adequate inventory of reagents and supplies for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Validates new methods, procedures and instruments.
  • Performs trouble-shooting as required with reporting of major problems with instrumentation for repair.

  1. Bachelor's Degree and completion of approved training program for Medical Technologist with MT (ASCP) certification or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Medical Technologist with 1-3 years of Micro experience preferred.
  3. Certification per unit specific competency (i.e. BLS, CPI, etc.).
