Overview
Doota Industrial America is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Estimator to support complex telecommunications and industrial projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive cost estimates and proposals that directly impact project awards and profitability.
You will partner closely with engineering, operations, and business development to translate technical requirements into executable and cost-effective bids. This is a high-visibility role requiring precision, commercial awareness, and the ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and RFPs to define full project scopeÂ
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractorsÂ
- Develop and submit competitive bids and proposals aligned with company margin targetsÂ
- Perform quantity take-offs and validate pricing assumptionsÂ
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotationsÂ
- Identify project risks, cost drivers, and value engineering opportunitiesÂ
- Collaborate with engineering and project management to align estimates with execution strategyÂ
- Participate in bid reviews, scope clarifications, and client discussionsÂ
- Maintain current pricing databases, historical cost data, and estimating toolsÂ
- Ensure all estimates comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirementsÂ
- Support project handoff to operations, including scope alignment and budget validationÂ
- Track awarded vs. estimated costs to improve future accuracyÂ
Qualifications
- 5–10+ years of electrical estimating experience (telecommunications, industrial, or construction environments preferred)Â
- Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentationÂ
- Experience with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar)Â
- Solid understanding of electrical systems, installations, and construction methodologiesÂ
- Proven track record of developing accurate, competitive bidsÂ
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost modelingÂ
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsÂ
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentÂ
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and vendor negotiationsÂ
- Knowledge of NEC, local codes, and industry standardsÂ
Preferred
- Experience in telecommunications infrastructure, data centers, or industrial electrical systemsÂ
- Exposure to EPC/EPCM project environmentsÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldÂ

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experienceÂ
- Relevant safety certifications preferred (e.g., NESC, OSHA, ANSI, or similar industry-recognized credentials)
