Position Summary

In your role as a Gas and Chemical Systems (GCS) Specialty Gas Engineering Team Lead (TR) you will focus on leading an engineering team that comprehensively owns, maintains, supports, and improves specialty and bulk gas equipment at Samsung.

You will lead and direct the engineering team and ensure effective collaboration with operations and maintenance teams, as well as customer groups, to provide world-class equipment performance in the supply of gases supporting fab production.

You will also be responsible for supporting the planning, construction, startup and commissioning of new equipment, as well as the development and execution of projects to improve safety, quality, and reliability.

Role and Responsibilities

Here's what you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing a small team of ~9 engineers 

  • Leading and participating in safety initiatives, programs, and activities to drive world class safety performance

  • Providing technical expertise and ownership for gas systems, safety and quality standards, and improvements for those systems. Engineer will interact with operations teams, maintenance teams, construction teams, and equipment vendors to sustain and maintain equipment

  • Supporting technical troubleshooting of emergent equipment issues

  • Working with maintenance teams to plan and execute non-standard equipment maintenance to address failures or equipment improvements

  • Communicating and coordinating with Fab Engineering groups to provide technical support, supply issue resolution, and collaboration for improved safety, quality, and system reliability

  • Continually driving group culture toward greater learning, development, and overall job satisfaction

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • BS degree in Mechanical or Chemical engineering, or related technical field.

  • Minimum of 6 year’s direct operations experience related to gas and/or chemical supply systems, or otherwise, equipment that utilizes gases and/or chemicals for processing 

  • Semiconductor or electronics facility support preferred, with an emphasis on safety and hazardous process materials.

  • Direct leadership and management of teams is preferred
