Position Summary

The Shift Manager will be responsible leading one of four shifts of ~60 manufacturing operations personnel which focus on factory performance, management of bottleneck tool groups, tool efficiency/loading, and overall line balance. The Shift Manager will directly oversee six Manufacturing Supervisors in which you will provide guidance, mentor, and professionally develop the team to build better technical and people management skills. In addition, the role requires indirect supervision of another 55 technicians who report to the aforementioned Manufacturing Supervisors, of which, you will also be responsible for the growth and development, performance reviews, and onboarding process. Lastly, the Shift Manager is required to effectively communicate, collaborate, and influence up, down, and across the organization to achieve daily operations and optimal tool performance.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Sets and Achieves key performance indices (KPI) each shift including run rates, shipments, wafer starts, and line balance. Understands root cause for why certain KPIs cannot be met.

  • High level communication to organizational leaders on the status of the critical product deliveries, factory metrics, and help needs to improve performance.

  • Mentor, coach, and develop staff members to over-achieve in all aspects of their job.

  • Integrate new strategies and projects which help support product integration and line performance of both large scale and small scale products.

  • Precisely manage bottleneck toolsets to ensure key targets are met with zero rundown or lost efficiency.

  • Understand the existing and upcoming production plans and how changes to them will impact line balance and capacity of certain tool groups.

  • Maintain a hyper-safe environment which includes zero incidents. Weekly FAB walks will be performed and safety improvement projects will be logged monthly.

  • Ability to generate hourly, daily, and sometimes weekly reports which provide an overview of the FAB conditions.

  • Manage staff members to ensure proper coverage is in place during both standard working hours and non-standard working hours. This includes overtime support for unique projects and manual 

  • Be the voice of Manufacturing during emergency operations or critical situations.

  • Work hours: B shift, Sunday through Tuesday (6:45pm – 7:15am) with alternating Saturday.

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • Engineering or Business Management Degree.

  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience in a high pace manufacturing environment.

  • Proven Track record.

The current base salary range for this role is between $90,000 - $185,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
